Description: CD - Highest Hope - Deepest Joy

Recorded in Dublin’s prestigious Windmill Lane Studios in the spring of 2010, this fabulous album features the New Irish Choir and Orchestra in majestic choral and orchestral arrangements of classic hymns and contemporary worship songs.

The CD features four excellent soloists – Yazz, Joanne Hogg, Sylvia Burnside and Nathan Jess – each of whom brings their own unique contribution to a truly eclectic album. With bespoke orchestrations by Paul Campbell and Jonathan Rea, the album has a fresh and rich symphonic sound which will allow you to bring something of the excitement of attending a live New Irish event into your own home or car.

The songs in the album express the profound joy which is found when we place our hope in the goodness of God rather than in things around us. Right from the majestic opening of “The Splendour of the King”, there is an incredibly vibrant and positive tone to the singing and playing. This persists throughout the album in songs such as “Sing to the Lord”, “Hear the Call of the Kingdom” and an energetic rendering of “How Great Thou Art.” In the more mellow songs such as “There is a hope” “Still my soul” and “Give me Jesus” the focus is on the beautiful sound of the choir which leads the listener through the lyrics with a gentle but convincing passion. Surprises include songs by two local composers – Brian Houston’s “The Lord is still the Lord” and “Prayer of St Francis” in a setting by conductor, Jonathan Rea. Jonathan also co-produced the album alongside the vastly experienced Alastair McMillan. Buy your copy today.
