Jonathan Rea - Queen's Birthday Honours List

The board, singers, players and all associated with New Irish are delighted to learn of Jonathan’s award in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2020 and want to put on record our gratitude to him for all he has done over so many years with New Irish. It is lovely to see his services to music recognised and we warmly congratulate him on receiving this honour.

Here are a few words from the man himself.

"This honour has me grinning from ear to ear, but my work in New Irish Arts relies on the wonderful community of talented volunteer musicians and singers who choose to come along and be involved in our events. In accepting the award, I do so with gratitude to God and to all the lovely people I’ve been privileged to collaborate with over our 25 year history. I hope and pray it won’t be too long before we can make live music together again.”
