22-27 July 2019

Youth Choir

Our youth choir is a great opportunity to make friends, sing in a fantastic choir and understand more about the Christian life.

Our 2019 Summer Residential will be held from 22-27 July 2019, in Ganaway Activity Centre, Millisle. Being part of the New Irish Youth Choir means joining our 100 strong youth choir, enjoying a 6 day residential course, choir workshops, singing lessons, crazy games, Bible teaching, Days out and numerous concerts during the year.

Youth Choir 2019 Registration is now closed.

Registration Information.
Returning members do not need to audition, but do need to register before 30th January 2019 to secure their place.

New applicants need to register to attend our workshop/auditions on Saturday 23rd March in St. Brigid’s Church of Ireland, Glengormley, which run from 10 to 11:30am. New applicants will be informed soon after the auditions if they are being offered a place in the Youth Choir for 2019.

At your audition you need to prepare to sing part of a song. You can choose anything you like – but it’s best if you can bring sheet music for the piano to play along. It really doesn’t matter what you choose – but it should be something that lets us hear your singing voice at its best. Something you know well and can sing confidently. There is never time to listen to the whole song, so don’t expect to perform it all. We just need to hear enough to assess your singing voice.

Girls may join in the summer after their P7 year. They may attend the residential at the end of Year 13, provided they have not reached the age of 18. They must then leave the choir on their 18th birthday.

Boys with unbroken voices can come from summer after their P6 year until their 18th birthday. Unfortunately they must leave the choir when their voices break. The 2019 residential will cost £245 and must be paid by the end of June. Further details on payment methods will be explained after registration.
